On February 23, 2021, the Thirteenth Civil Court of First Instance of Guatemala ruled on a motion for expansion filed in connection with its January 26, 2021 order that upheld the preliminary defense of prescription, thereby terminating the proceedings. The court confirmed that the earlier ruling omitted an express pronouncement regarding the procedural consequences of that decision.

As a result, the court granted the expansion and clarified that all precautionary measures imposed within the case must be lifted, ordering the issuance of the corresponding official notices. All other aspects of the January 26, 2021 order were expressly maintained with full legal effect.
