Order: Court dismissed damages claim by Administradora

On August 17, 2022, the Eleventh Civil Court of First Instance dismissed the damages lawsuit filed by Administradora de Restaurantes, S.A. (formerly Compañía Importadora La Perla, S.A.) against Lisa, S.A. The plaintiff claimed Lisa engaged in abusive litigation and defamatory actions that damaged its finances and reputation. However, the court found that the evidence presented was insufficient to prove any quantifiable harm.

The judgment concluded that the documents submitted by the plaintiff focused primarily on matters outside the scope of the damages suit, and the court granted probative value only to two items. It ruled that the plaintiff failed to show any direct causal link between Lisa’s conduct and the alleged losses. As a result, the court rejected the claim in its entirety and did not award damages.
