Overview
On May 29, 2023, the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office issued Resolution No. 47 admitting the criminal complaint filed by Lisa, S.A. against Villamorey, S.A. and its legal representative, Ramiro López Nimatúj. The complaint alleges that Villamorey unlawfully intimidated the judge of the Fourth Civil Court by presenting a baseless coadjutant complaint on September 22, 2022, one day before the judge reversed Embargo Order 1234/14606-21 in Case File No. 14606-21. The prosecutor reviewed the facts, including the archived criminal complaint submitted by Villamorey, the appeal record, and the prior denial of Villamorey’s amparo.
The Prosecutor concluded that Lisa’s complaint meets the procedural requirements of Article 88 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Although admission does not validate the alleged crimes, the ruling recognizes Lisa as a victim and initiates formal investigation into alleged crimes against public officials and the administration of justice. The resolution orders notification of the parties and authorizes continued investigation into alleged intimidation, false accusations, and the alleged $44.5 million in damages claimed by Lisa.
