Notification: Bosch formally notified of criminal complaint

On May 22, 2025, Juan Luis Bosch Gutiérrez formally acknowledged receipt of the criminal complaint filed against him in Case No. 202300033850, pursuant to Resolution No. 73-2023 dated June 22, 2023. In a notarized declaration executed in Guatemala City and authenticated by Panama’s consular authorities, Bosch confirmed that he had been notified of the complaint for alleged embezzlement and other offenses against public administration, filed by Lisa, S.A.

Bosch simultaneously invoked his constitutional right to remain silent and confirmed that he would not give testimony, citing Article 8(g) of the American Convention on Human Rights and Article 25 of Panama’s Constitution. He noted that he is already represented in the case by attorney Moisés Joel Bartlett Quiel. The declaration was certified by notary Ana Isabel Garrido Prieto and authenticated by the Panamanian Consulate on May 26, 2025.
