Notice Report: GALA obstructed service of court documents

On July 10 and July 16, 2024, a judicial officer attempted to notify Villamorey, S.A. of Order No. 966 in the damages lawsuit filed by Lisa, S.A. Both attempts took place at the law firm Galindo, Arias & López (GALA), the registered agent of Villamorey, S.A., located in Office 11. In both cases, GALA’s receptionist, Licda. Maricel Oballes, stated that she did not know the named party, Villamorey, S.A.

This report highlights a clear obstruction to the judicial notification process. Despite GALA’s long-standing role as Villamorey's legal and resident agent, it failed to accept or acknowledge the court’s service documents. This conduct may result in alternative notification methods such as edicts and could have procedural consequences for the defendants.
