Order: Court authorized edict-based summons

On September 16, 2024, the First Civil Circuit Court of Panama authorized the use of edict-based summons in the damages lawsuit filed by Lisa, S.A. against Villamorey, S.A. and Juan Luis Bosch Gutiérrez. The court acted upon a secretarial report that confirmed the plaintiff's request to issue a summons by edict due to the defendants’ continued unavailability for formal notification.

In accordance with Article 1017 of the Panamanian Judicial Code, the judge ordered that both Villamorey, S.A.—represented by Ramiro López Nimatuj—and Juan Luis Bosch Gutiérrez, in his personal capacity, be formally summoned by edict. This procedure is typically reserved for cases where personal notification is impossible due to an unknown or concealed address.
