Ten civil circuit courts of the First Judicial Circuit of Panama report to the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor that no civil proceedings exist against Lisa, S.A., and that the only cases involving it are those Lisa itself filed against Villamorey, S.A.

Results by Court

Eight of the ten courts reported categorically that no proceedings of any kind exist or have existed against Lisa, S.A.:

• Seventh Civil Court (Notice No. 3928, November 23, 2023): after reviewing the Automated Judicial Management System (SAGJ), no case whatsoever is registered against Lisa, S.A.
• Thirteenth Civil Court (Notice No. 3348, November 27, 2023): no pending, active, or resolved cause, lawsuit, sequestration, attachment, or civil claim of any kind exists against Lisa, S.A.
• Seventeenth Civil Court (Notice No. 2824, December 5, 2023): per registration books, no proceeding or precautionary measure involving Lisa, S.A. has been filed or is pending from April 14, 2015 to date.
• Eighteenth Civil Court (Notice No. 4432-23, December 4, 2023): no proceeding in which Lisa, S.A. is a party has been or is being processed.
• Twelfth Civil Court (Notice No. 3413, December 26, 2023): a secretarial certification confirms that no judicial proceeding or precautionary measure involving Lisa, S.A. has been processed.
• Fourteenth Civil Court (Notice No. 739, March 4, 2024): no record of Lisa, S.A. being a party in any judicial proceeding.
• Fifteenth Civil Court (Notice No. 8868, November 23, 2023): no proceeding or precautionary measure against Lisa, S.A. exists on file.
• Third Civil Court (Notice No. 1052, March 8, 2024): only a sequestration measure filed by Lisa, S.A. against Villamorey, S.A. (case 578852018, internal 91-18 MC) existed, now archived after the court admitted the withdrawal under an order dated October 16, 2018.

Active Proceedings Initiated by Lisa

Two courts reported active cases, all initiated by Lisa, S.A. as plaintiff, not as defendant:

• Eleventh Civil Court (Notice No. 3049-23, December 6, 2023): confirms no proceedings exist against Lisa, S.A. Reports two cases filed by Lisa against Villamorey, S.A.: the ordinary high-value proceeding with counterclaim and sequestration action (Exp. 556-99, entry registry RUE 556-1999, precautionary measure RUE 7081-2008) and the simple high-value executive proceeding (Exp. 117030-21, entry registry RUE 1170302021).
• Fifth Civil Court (Notice No. 3851/2023, November 24, 2023): reports that the only case on file is the summary rendering-of-accounts action brought by Lisa, S.A. against Villamorey, S.A. (Exp. 14606-21, entry 14606/2021), at that time on appeal before the First Superior Tribunal of the First Judicial District.

Evidentiary Value

The official notices, produced in response to Resolution 593 within the criminal investigation (Cpt. 202300033850), constitute documentary evidence that Lisa, S.A. faces no civil proceedings whatsoever in the First Judicial Circuit of Panama. The only procedural activity involving Lisa is litigation it has itself initiated to defend its rights as a shareholder and creditor against Villamorey, S.A. This result reinforces Lisa's position in the criminal investigation: far from being a litigant with outstanding civil liabilities, Lisa is the aggrieved party that has had to pursue multiple judicial avenues to enforce its rights against the group controlled by Juan Luis Bosch Gutiérrez.
