Overview

On July 3, 2024, the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office granted Lisa, S.A.’s request to obtain accounting records and financial statements from Villamorey, S.A. and its resident agent, the law firm Galindo, Arias & López (GALA), for the years 2019 to 2024. The order was issued under criminal case No. 202300033850, in which Juan Luis Bosch Gutiérrez is under investigation for allegedly withholding judicially retained dividends owed to Lisa. The prosecutor recognized the relevance of the requested documentation given Lisa’s status as a shareholder in Villamorey and the suspected concealment of corporate profits.

However, the prosecutor denied Lisa’s parallel request for an in-person inspection of Villamorey’s books, deeming it redundant at this stage. The request for a forensic audit was also deferred pending review of the documents to be produced. The resolution reinforces Lisa’s right to access financial information as a shareholder and continues the investigation into whether Bosch and Villamorey have hidden or diverted dividend payments. The order was signed by Deputy Prosecutor Mileyka Espinosa Vargas and officially recorded on July 4, 2024.
