Order: Rejects Lisa’s exceptions in Torre Nova dividend case

On March 31, 2025, the First Multiperson Civil Court of First Instance of Guatemala issued a ruling in the case filed by Inversiones Torre Nova, S.A. against Lisa, S.A.. Lisa had raised preliminary exceptions, including lack of jurisdiction, defective complaint, lack of standing, non-fulfillment of conditions, and non-fulfillment of time requirements. The judge declared all of Lisa’s exceptions without merit, confirming that Guatemalan courts are competent to hear the matter and that Torre Nova’s claim met all formal legal requirements.
